The future looks even better in Headingley
By Chris • Oct 31st, 2008 • Category: CommunityIt would be a shame to think we were scarred and affected by the 60’s architectural abominations forever. Headingley has some very nice examples of beautiful architecture, but in the 60’s when less emphasis was placed on the phrase “in keeping” and free love reined supreme we were left regretting the legacy of the 60’s if not for the music certainly for the buildings left behind.
A recent move towards renaissance in Headingley has brought about a more tasteful and considerate approach to many things from street furniture to the emphasis placed on the look of new developments.
Parklane Properties a Headingley based developer has unveiled their plans to change the face of Headingley’s busiest street, Otley Road.
The development planned for the (hopefully) near future will dramatically change the 60’s looking building adjacent to the main traffic lights in Headingley in to a very attractive traditional style building but incorporating subtle contemporary features.
