Headingley Neighbourhood Plan

Your opportunity to have a say in the development of the Headingley Neighbourhood Area.

Leeds City Council has approved Headingley Neighbourhood Forum to prepare a Plan to find out what people who live or work in the Area want to see in the Plan, the Forum is running a Public Engagement Programme or consultation.

This started last summer with a Public Meeting and a Questionnaire about people’s views of Headingley. The Forum recently invited members of the local Business community along to a special lunch at HEART on Bennett Road, where the Forum was keen to seek the views of businesses around the Town Centre.

The luncheon was fairly well attended, although not a true representation of the diversity of businesses we have in Headingley as a whole. However, local areas of concern appeared to be a ‘lack of parking for customers and staff’, as was the traffic problems on Otley Road and the number of empty shop units which the Forum seemed to think was due to high rents, which was felt to be more likely a result of poor footfall on the high street due to the lack of available parking spaces.
